Is silence golden in today’s world?
It is somewhere close to you,
Somewhere around you,
Not in something deep but in something you can feel,
We hardly experience it in our daily lives,
But ask your grandma she says its divine,
You may feel you know it but no you do not,
Your ears are numb you don’t hear anything,
But look inside you do you still hear nothing?
Friends, family, secrets, and cries
So much noise is enough for you to forget you and your points
It is not that difficult cause silence lives within,
No matter who speaks you will hear it therein,
Silence never lies it always tells the truth
Singing a sweet melody or a haunting tune,
So just be silent when you are
angry, silent when you think,
But let your voice be heard to do a good deed,
The feeling of silence is lonely,
The sound of silence is haunting,
The smell of silence is airy,
But once you get to know it
It sounds a lot homely, a lot familiar, a lot holy.
Greetings, this is a piece of poetry I wrote a year ago..
Today let’s discuss everything about silence (shhh, don’t forget we are
talking of silence so keep it down)
In today’s world, there’s noise everywhere we go,
The honking cars on the roads,
The screaming boss in the office,
The baby crying at home,
Or the sound of loud music coming from the house of your neighbor (who
you hate).
But we have ways to escape this noise and run away from it but what
about the commotion and chaos that lives inside you.
Can you hide from that too?
We are surrounded by sounds of all sorts some pleasant, some not so
pleasant but we hardly ever experience what is called true silence, to my
surprise some studies even say that humans cannot survive absolute silence and
moreover most of us can’t even fall asleep without some background music.
We speak about noise pollution and how it affects today’s world, how
deadly its effects are and how to prevent it, I am sure I studied some ways to
prevent it in my SST textbook somewhere. And it’s true the World Economic Front
has just published a list of the worst cities for noise pollution based on over
200,000 hearing tests.
Silence (A beautiful word with an even more beautiful meaning)
It has this very unique ability to do a lot of things, the power to
break or fix relationships, the power to make you realize the importance of
certain things in life, the power to help you meet your true self, the power to
assist you to see clearly through difficult situations.
Silence has the power to either heal you or break you in ways unhealable.
We, today cannot even spend a minute thinking about nothing at all,
there’s always something or the other that is going inside our heads. And I get
it I have tried we can’t really do anything about it. We always have to keep
thinking of something and it’s anything but under our control. We can’t silence
our thoughts but at least we can turn them into a sweet melody, which we do not
mind listening to all day.
Silence is golden at times. It’s probably the
best thing to practice when an argument is going. It’s also the best policy
when you don’t want to soak in the negativity of other people. It’s advised to
stay silent when you are not sure of what you are saying, you have incomplete
information, or if you have something unkind to say. Besides, silence is
meditative, it helps us connect with our inner selves and bring out the best in
us. It helps you make the best decision. It has a medicinal quality to it.
We have all heard this right nothing new
silence is better than unwanted noise that no one wants to hear but I want to
bring forward the other side of it today, what are the situations where silence
is not that appealing. According to me
Silence
is not always golden. When you withhold information, an emotion, or an
important conversation, it’s anything but medicinal. It turns toxic and ruins
relations, emotions, and the universe around you. This is the reason why passive-aggressive
people hurt you so much. Sometimes, it’s not the confrontation or an argument
(not the endless one) that hurts, but the silence that eats you up like a
termite and makes you emotionally hollow. For example, you know for sure
someone has been wronged, but you are sitting quietly pretending you didn’t
notice. You have seen a molester harassing a woman and you are standing
silently in the crowd. You have witnessed an accident but you don’t call up the
ambulance; instead, you just choose to watch the person dying. Somebody has
been bullying you unnecessarily and you don’t utter a word thinking it’s beyond
your dignity to defend your position. Also, when your silence is misconstrued
as your consent, it can hardly be golden.
Wise people are not always silent but they
know when to be
For me silence is not always gold it is
sometimes just yellow
I will not say that we should be silent
always nor am I saying that we should open our mouths wide just to utter
nonsense, What I believe is that we should have that sense so that we can judge
when silence is gold and when it is just yellow.
The conclusion is silence can make it and
break it, maybe that’s how life is everything
has two extremes’ but to enjoy your life to its fullest we must find a balance
between the two….
As said correctly
“Life is too ironic, it takes sadness to know what
happiness is, noise to appreciate silence, and absence to value presence.
XOXO
